Greetings. My name is Marceia and I am currently pursuing my MA in counseling at Governors State University. As a counselor-in-training, I believe that people are inherently good in nature. I also believe in guiding others to unlock the fullness within themselves, as well as the importance of re-writing narratives that often restricts us to locked, isolated, and cyclical places. As a counselor-in-training, I believe that clients have the power to author their personal narratives, constructing ones that highlight their strengths rather than their failures. My areas of treatment interests include but are not limited to the following: self-esteem, life changes, trauma, grief, relationship issues, as well as sexual trauma. I also possess a love and a joy to work with children. As a counselor-in-training, my therapeutic approach involves warmth, attentiveness, non-judgment, and positivity which ultimately influences the process of change. When I am not working or at school, I truly enjoy traveling, hiking, dancing, and attending my local church services/events.
