Couples, Family, and Individual Therapist

I’m Tyra Panion, born and raised on the South Side of Chicago in the Roseland community. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I’m on track to complete my Master’s in Couples and Family Counseling by August 2025.

One quote that deeply inspires my work is by Maya Angelou: “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” For me, this speaks to the transformative power of healing—a journey that requires strength, vulnerability, and support.

My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy with warmth, openness, and a deep respect for each client’s unique path. I believe that every person holds the potential for healing and growth, regardless of the challenges they’ve faced. My practice is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility. By meeting clients where they are, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where meaningful change can happen. Working with individuals from all walks of life has helped me expand my own perspective and deepen my ability to support others authentically.
